Drag it half a band further and you lose the 6.5. That is the entire margin you are working with: one bad skill is survivable, one bad skill and a wobble is not. It is why week two goes at whichever skill is lowest rather than whichever one you enjoy.
Which of the four is holding your overall down is the first thing week one settles — a full timed mock, sat before anything is taught.

Every IELTS sitting in Taiwan has been computer-delivered since February 2026, so a result comes back in one to two days rather than thirteen, and sittings run several times a week. You choose the day that suits you — we book it together on 11/15.
Applications close on 18 September — sooner if the twelve fill. Seats go in the order they arrive.

Emily Lee
艾蜜莉All sixteen live hours are hers
Emily was an international news editor and reporter before she taught full time. The job was reading foreign coverage of a story, working out what the argument underneath it actually was, and rebuilding that argument in another language against a deadline — which is close to what Writing Task 2 asks you to do in forty minutes with a pen.
She has taught privately for three years in person and four years online, logging more than 6,500 one-to-one hours, nearly all of them with Taiwanese learners. That is the part that matters most here: she already knows where Taiwanese candidates lose their bands, because she has watched it happen several thousand times.
Her standing upper-intermediate class is a news and current-affairs discussion, run mostly in English — students take a position, argue it, and defend it under questioning. It is Speaking Part 3 in everything but name, and it is the same muscle Task 2 needs.

Sixteen hours in one room with eleven other people means Emily knows your writing by the second week. That is the whole reason the group is twelve.

Only if you hit your band
Due within fourteen days of your official result, and only when the Test Report Form shows the overall band you named on day one. You sit the test within thirty days of the final session; if one skill drags the average down, an IELTS One Skill Retake within sixty days counts too. Fall short and you owe nothing: you keep every mark, recording and script.
Neither number is charged today. The waitlist takes no card and commits you to nothing.
